Abstract

This paper presents fully-developed transient natural convection flow of viscous reactive fluid in a vertical porous pipe both analytically and numerically. A theoretical analysis is also presented to find the expression for temperature, velocity, skin-friction and rate of heat transfer for the steady-state fully developed flow using perturbation technique. The result shows that as time increases the transient/steady-state rate of heat transfer on the pipe surface increases. During course of numerical computation, an excellent agreement is found between steady state and transient solution at large value of time.
