Abstract

This study was performed to evaluate if organic and bio-fertilization could replace mineral fertilization in potato production with no adverse effect on quantity or quality. Therefore, two field experiments were conducted at "Bio Egypt" farm in Qalyubia Governorate - Egypt to evaluate the impact of bio-fertilizers on a Clay soil and were treated with different isolates rates of bio- fertilizer and compost. The highest content of tubers was obtained in treatment p6 that inoculated with endophytes bacteria (Azotobacter sp. + Azospirillum sp. + Bacillus sp. + compost extract). In field trial, inoculation of these endophytes supported potato plant growth and enhanced nutrient uptake. The obtained results refer to improved germination, increases in dry weight, the total yield, protein concentration and total polyphenol scored (16.52 mg plantˉ1, 12.6 ton/fed, 10.9%, 8307.6 ppm) respectively in season 1. The result in season 2 scored (15.33 mg plantˉ1, 13.2 ton/fed, 10.62%, 2936.5 ppm) respectively compared with the examined strains.
