This chapter aimed to discuss about the improvement of anxiety symptoms through cognitive behavioral therapy. With the goal of enhancing mental health during the pandemic, cognitive-behavioral therapy was established based on the prior therapeutic paradigm of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Social phobia consists of a marked and persistent fear of encountering other people, usually in small groups; or doing certain acts in a public place, like eating in public toilets, public speaking or encounters with persons of the opposite sex. A research design was used in the study to check the efficacy of CBT in treating SAD. In this research, design assessment is done prior to the treatment and after the treatments given. The current case study of Linda, a 23-year-old with SAD, implemented this mutualized CBT for SAD. We applied relaxation techniques, e.g. deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. In sessions 10-12 we continued with a review of homework after continuing to use cognitive restructuring to explore Linda’s core beliefs, and challenge them, also during the sessions we teach a coping strategy. We applied cognitive restructuring techniques as well as worked on a list of fearful social hierarchies in combination with relaxation training skills. It is concluded that in the current state of pandemic treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy is the best successful approach for treating social anxiety disorder based on the available data. Subsequent investigations in this field have to concentrate on contrasting cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy with other pertinent therapies.
