Abstract

Cr removal capacity of persimmon tannin gel from the aqueous Cr(VI) solution was examined at first.
307 and 76 mg of Cr/g-dry persimmon gel was adsorbed as Cr(VI) on the gel and reduced to Cr(III) in
the solution, respectively. Cr(VI) was selectively adsorbed from the solution (pH2) containing 7 kinds
of metal ions using persimmon gel. On the other hand, Cr (III) which reduced from Cr (VI) by
persimmon tannin gel was selectively adsorbed same as Cu (II) from the solution (pH 5) containing 7
kinds of metal ions using Arthrobacter nicotianae cells Removal and separation of Fe (III), Cr (VI), and
Cr (III) produced from Cr (VI) was established by some basic features about the removal of these
metals using persimmon gel and A. nicotianae cells are reported in this paper.
