Abstract

Aging is a natural process that affects all beings. It cannot be stopped or reversed, but it can be slowed. Aging is the steady deterioration of structure and functions that occurs over time, resulting in disease or damage and increasing the risk of mortality. The boundary of old age cannot be defined exactly because it does not have the same meaning in all societies. The goal of the study was to examine the health problems of the elderly and to determine the impact of selected socio demographic variables in order to establish an interventional programme for the elderly's care. Methodology: Non-experimental research design, survey was used. A total of 157 elderly people from the Hegganahalli urban neighborhood took part in the study. The non-probability convenient sampling strategy was utilised in this investigation. To collect data and detect health problems among the elderly, a structured interview schedule and descriptive design were utilised. Descriptive and inferential statistics tools were used to analyse the data. The Chi square test was used to determine the effects of various demographic variables. An interventional module for elderly care was designed based on the problems observed.
