Abstract

The identification of frequently encountered infections and a thorough understanding of them have become essential for oncologists to effectively treat the disease. Human brucellosis is one of them. Brucella is gram negative bacilli, primarily causes infection in animals. Human become infected when they came in close contact of these infected animals or animal products as raw milk and meat product. This is a class B bioterrorist agent and one of the most neglected tropical diseases. It has diagnostic problems, is clinically underdiagnosed, and has the ability to mask a variety of infectious and noninfectious ailments. Here is the first and only case report from India that describes brucella bacteremia in a patient with solid cancer. Despite receiving attention and treatment, the patient passed away.
